1908 Zenma Works Ltd. was established by investment from British B & W (capital: ¥73,000).
1915 Zenma Works was renamed to Zenma Iron Works.
1920 Capital of Zenma Iron Works was increased to ¥400,000.
1928 Toyo Babcock Ltd. was established with capital of ¥1,750,000 (British B & W and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. held 60% and 40% of the share, respectively).
All of the British B & W’s business operations in Japan were transferred to this company.
1935 The capital was increased to ¥2,250,000 (British B & W and Mitsui held 67% and 33% of the share, respectively).
1936 The capital was increased to ¥3,000,000 (British B & W 67% and Mitsui 33%).
1951 The capital became ¥101.37 million after the asset valuation reserve has been transferred (British B & W held 100% of the share).
1953 Hitachi Ltd. and B & W of U.K. jointly chartered Babcock-Hitachi K.K. (The capital was ¥360 million. Hitachi and British B & W held 50% of the share, respectively).
The capital was increased to ¥180 million (British B & W held 100% of the share).
1954 Technical assistance agreement (the second technical assistance agreement) was concluded between Hitachi and British B & W.
1959 Technical assistance agreement was concluded between Hitachi and British B & W on the boiler with cyclone furnace and the once-through Benson boiler.
1965 The company merged with Hitachi Boiler Ltd. (Capital was increased to ¥1,235 million. Hitachi and British B & W held 85% and 15% of the share, respectively).
1970 Asia Projects Engineering Pte. Ltd. (APECO) was established.
1971 Technical assistance agreement was concluded between the company and American B & W on MgO boiler.
The capital was increased to ¥1;,852.5 million (Hitachi and British B & W held 85% and 15% of the share, respectively).
1974 Kure Works was certified for the ASME “S”, “U” and “U2” stamps.
1975 The capital was increased to ¥2,637.5 million (Hitachi 80% and British B & W 20%).
1977 Technical collaboration agreement was concluded between the company and German Babcock on the Benson boiler.
Technical collaboration agreement was concluded between the company and Stoke Boiler (a Netherlands company) on a small once-through boiler.
1978 The capital was increased to ¥3,000 million (Hitachi 80% and British B & W 20%).
Kure Works was certified for the ASME “N”, “NA” and “NPT” stamps.
1980 Technical collaboration agreement was concluded between the company and Babcock Hydro Pneumatic Ltd. of U.K. on the ash handling system for coal fired power plants.
1985 BAIMEX Ingerieria y Servicio, S.A. de C.V. was established.
1987 Hitachi Ltd. came to hold 100% of the share.
Annex of Akitsu Works was completed.
1989 Babcock-Hitachi (Philippines) Inc. (BHPI) was established.
1990 Clyde Babcock-Hitachi Pty., Ltd. (CBH) was established.
1994 The company was certified under ISO9001, the quality system.
1995 The capital was increased to ¥5,000 million (Hitachi held 100% of the share).
1996 Babcock-Hitachi Dongfang Boiler Co., Ltd. (BHDB) was established.
1997 The company was certified under ISO14001, the environmental management system.
2003 Babcock-Hitachi acquired the boiler division of Babcock Borsig Power Systems GmbH (BBPS) in Germany.
2004 Babcock Borsig Power Systems GmbH (BBPS) in Germany changed its company name to Babcock-Hitachi Europe GmbH.
