Babcock-Hitachi K.K. developed an acoustic gas flowmeter that can measure gas flow with high precision even under severe environment containing heavy dusts at high temperature or in a large duct.
The acoustic gas flowmeter has superiority over the conventional measurement method using an airfoil regarding the following.
- No pressure losses (Reduction of fan power)
- Long and large rectification straight pipe unit not required
- Improvement of maintenance property(Zero point adjustment due to aging not required, low dust clogging)
Features
- Measurement of the velocity and temperature of gases in the audible frequency-based acoustic propagation time method having an excellent long-distance propagation property.
- Simultaneous measurement of the average velocity and temperature along the measurement path.
- Understanding of the distribution of gases (drift condition) by the multipath measurement.
